With Judy’s permission, I wanted to share just a small part of her story.
Judy has lived with a hip disarticulation amputation since she was just 15 years old. Most people can’t imagine the challenges that come with that, but if you know Judy, you quickly realize she doesn’t spend much time thinking about what she can’t do. She focuses on what she can do—and then finds a way to do even more.
She has always been incredibly independent. She didn’t need someone to do things for her. She simply wanted someone by her side to encourage her, help her feel stronger, and give her the confidence to reach one important goal…

Watching Judy accomplish something she had been working toward was such a rewarding reminder of why my sister and I started American Angels Home Care. After spending more than 20 years as physical therapists, we knew there was another way we wanted to make a difference—by helping people remain safe, active, confident, and independent in the homes they love. It’s never just about providing care; it’s about building relationships and helping people continue living life on their own terms.
Our clients inspire us every single day. Judy’s determination, positivity, and unwavering spirit have been a gift to witness, and I feel incredibly grateful that she trusted us to be part of this chapter of her journey.
